I posted this in two seperate posts in the other thread.
"Has anyone else picked up their new release, Horses in the Sky?
Currently, I think the best track is the first, God Bless Our Dead Marines.
It's a suite, which is made up of six movements.
They changed the name of the band again. It's now, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and tra-la-la Band.
Edit: My sister hearing this for the first time, pointed out something that I had not noticed. The second track, Mountains Made of Steam, uses the theme of My Favorite Things for a majority of the song."
I have listened to it a couple more times since those two posts.
I can't figure out why the 4th track is called "Teddy Roosevelt's Guns", since it is an anti-Canadian song. It's not until the ending chorus, which repeats "Teddy Roosevelt's Guns" several times does those lyrics even get mentioned.
Back to the song, God Bless our Dead Marines. As best I can make out the first lyrics he is singing, “The Plane shows in the Electric Chair, the Electric Chair, the Electric Chair several times. Does anyone have any idea, what this is that supposed to mean?
We are also both sure that they are quoting some Middle Eastern song in it, but can't place the song.
