Neutral Milk Hotel
Just wondering whether anyone had heard of this band, and whether anyone could deny their undoubtedly unfathomable majesty?
They are, or were, fairly unknown round these parts, but in my view the finest band of the 90's without a doubt, and Jeff Mangum is one of the finest lyricists of all time.
Just in case I'm on my own here, they're kind of folk-y, but with some kind of weird indieness thrown in. I just don't have a clue how to describe them, other than simply brilliant.

Still haven't heard anything from them but I see them mentioned from time to time. I keep intending to check them out since I hear them compared to The Decemberists and I really them. Oh well, I'll get around to it eventually I suppose.

They're definitely not bad, but not very exciting either. I mean, I like In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, the album. And I really like the title track, but the whole album was kind of a disappointment to me. It just isn't as good as I thought it would be.

It's so fantastic, some of the most moving and deeply emotional music I have ever heard. King Of Carrot Flowers Pt1 makes me want to cry so much. But I am male and therefore it would look silly to cry in a public place for no discernable reason.

Yeah. King Of Carrot Flowers Pt1 is pretty cool, and definitely one of my favourite tracks by them.
And, you needn't worry about being alone, plenty of NMH lovers here.
