as Josh mentioned earlier about his (Fitton's) correlation with Ae, it is very possible, but i find that it would be doubtful in that the melodies that Ae use are not Bolish (in my opinion) in any fashion. i can see some of the root movement of the melodic material from Incu. such as Maetl could very well yield some Bola-esque harmonies, but i don't think Ae really exhibits the emotional quality that Fitton does..Ae's emotional quality is measured differently in my opinion. im not saying their (Ae's) music is not emotional, but i think they have either 1. developed a style from the teachings of Fitton, or 2. had inspiration from Fitton, but decided to express their musicality in a way that didn't mimic his melodies, but perhaps in other ways. i dunno, it just seems to me that Autechre is way too centered on linear motion with abrupt percussive qualities unheard of in Fitton's music. I believe that Fitton focuses on a very specific feeling and expresses it (almost minimally) in an evolutionally manner. his ideas are consistent, but they usually focus on building and evolving as textures gradually move in.

although, we might see this (evolutionized melodic contour) in Garbage and even Anvil Vapre..i am really ignorant in many ways, but i just don't see Bola's style in their music. i guess it's very possible. these posts are pretty much pointless, but i won't delete them so you can read my nonsensical thematic giberish for your own enjoyment.
