and your point Satch? I didn't say anything negative about David, I was just translating what I 'thought' to be his intentions.

I only assume things when people rarely or never talk about them. I know it's bad, but if someone doesn't talk about something, it's usually safe to assume they know nothing about it or don't care about it.

Another possiblity is that "they" rather not have to hear yet another variation on "their" age. It was boring after the 5th time, now around the 10,000th time.... Yet another possiblity, is that "they" figure there are more then enough people that can handle things in this genre, that "they" don't need to. Especially that Brothaman character.
