The most anticipated debut of one of the most shocking combination of Cornell joining former Rage Against The Machine to form Audioslave. Before the forming of Audioslave Cornell worked with well known grunge band Soundgarden. He had throat surgery which is the reason why he sounds somewhat different from his previous work when he screams. Audioslave brings Rage Against The Machine's; well rage, and Cornell's high-powered vocals. As I said Audioslave's anticipation and high pressure to make a good record falls short on this album.
There are some tracks that are decently enough to listen to. The intro track which is 'Cochise' sets the mood for the album. Cornell's overpowering voice, Morello's riffs, Tim Commerford's bass, and Wilk's hard hitting drums. Tracks such as Gasoline, Shadows On The Sun, an Exploder are decent tracks to listen too. Though most of the album has it's low points this album isn't a bad debut, it's good enough if you want to just rock out
.Most of the album consists of Cornell showing off. Though I don't blame anyone but, Tom Morello really isn't showcased as much as his guitar should be on this album. Though this album is filled with his riffs not many are very memorable.
