Question Experimental Audio Research

Anyone here fond of Experimental Audio Research? By virtue of name alone I think they fit in well with this forum, although there are enough electronic elements that they could be discussed equally in the Electronic forum. This ensemble has managed to create some really fantastic releases mixing up ambient drones, treated vocals, synth workouts, found sounds, acoustic improvisation, noise, and whatever the hell else they decide to throw in the mix. Functioning as an experimental side-project and indie-rock supergroup, E.A.R. managed to create some adventurous music filled with interesting textures and sounds, and some great album releases. So, that said, which of E.A.R.'s primary studio albums do you enjoy the most?

Personally, I think of "Millennium Music" and "Phenomena 256" as their best albums, but I tend to drift towards "Millennium Music" as it tends to display fewer electronic ambient tendencies and places more emphasis on improvisation and diverse instrumentation, so I guess that's where my vote's going.

The Koner Experiment. Anything to do with Thomas Koner is thumbs up for me.

Wow, someone finally bit.

I should probably pick up some of Koner's own releases once I get tired of this damn Free-Jazz kick...

well he's more the droning type. I just sold 4 or 5 originals that i had because i needed the money. You'd probably like his collaboration with Asmus Tietchens on the 'Kontakt der Junglinge' albums. Others from him to try are as follows:

1. Unerforschtes Gebeit
2. Nunatuk Gongamur (great one)
3. Daikan
4. Zyklop
5. Nuuk (cd/dvd version on milleplateauxmedia)
6. Aubrite
7. Teimo
8. Permafrost

There might be a few others, but i can't think of them right now

...on a side note, these albums aren't the easiest to find, and if you do, you will probably pay quite a bit for each one. I know before Nunatuk Gongamur was re-released (if it has been), it was being sold for about 40 dollars.

What do I think of what? EAR or Koner?

I'm actually waiting for two releases by Koner, so I'll let you know what I think when they get here.

And as for my favorite EAR release, I already said so in the first post.
