...which reminds me, i should've seen Dave Brubeck when he came through here about 9 months ago. Tickets were expensive as hell though.

You didn't miss much, and would have just wasted the money. Without Paul Desmond and Joe Morello, Brubeck isn't that interesting. The really funny part, is the one song Brubeck is most famous for, was written by Desmond.
Desmond and Morello lay down wicked solo's, in the middle of Take Five, which is in 5/4. Brubeck in the mean time is vamping throughout.

ahhh, well, it would've still been nice to see one of the oldies before they pass away. I wish Sonny Rollins would come around these parts, but I'm sure that'll never happen again.
