I just noticed that Hamid Drake wont be playing with the Tentet. That's a major missing piece. Paal Nilsen-Love is a good drummer, but Drake is currently the best drummer.

Jeb Bishop & Mars Williams also appear to have been replaced. I don't know much about their replacements. Magnus Broo also is playing trumpet to Williams sax and clarinet work.

Are you looking forward to seeing anyone in particular from the Tentet? Have you seen any of them before?

My favorites from the Tentet are Mats Gustafsson, Hamid Drake, Joe McPhee, and Brötzmann.

I have never seen any of them before, this is only my second concert. I don't really mind not having Hamid Drake, or having some of the members replaced considering I don't really have anytihng to compare it to. So I'm not really looing forward to anyone in particular either. I'm sure it'll be great in anycase.

I just did a bit of research, and Magnus Broo is part of the group Atomic with Paal Nilssen-Love. That's a sweet group. They recorded one of last year's best releases, with Vandermark's Sun Ra/Funkadelic group School Days on a recording called, Nuclear Assembly Hall.

The only thing I have found that we have with Per-Ake Holmlander is Vandermark's Territory 2 Band release Atlas. A great recording, but I don't remember much of Holmlander's tuba playing. I will have to listen to it again.

You never heard any of the musicians recordings before or just the Tentets? Well, you're in for a great time.

Do you mean, only your second concert or second Jazz related concert?

I have heard some of the musician's recordings, and the Tentet's.

My second concert period. My first concert was also jazz, but it is the only concert I have attended so far.
