That's incredible. I may actually have been interested in hearing that -- if only for the novelty.

Sorry to hear you didn't really enjoy the show. I enjoy his recordings a lot, but like I said before, haven't seen him in person, so...

...thanks for the review, in any case.

I enjoyed the show. My mind seemed to be fighting it a little, though. Might have been in one of my moods.

Laboratories.

Mostly in this little dive called Soundlab...small, dimly-lit room with some booths off to one side (with candles). Adjacent and to the back is the stage. Folding chairs are put up. Sort of has a bar.

Sometimes the shows are in a room in the local art museum.

Saw DA MAN aka Ornette Coleman last night in San Francisco with members of the horde and a Grasshoppa. Of course, the Grasshoppa didn't know Satchmo and horde were in attendence.

It was the first time a few of the horde were able to see him live. I on the other hand have seen DA MAN a dozen times now.

Ornette looked tired. However, considering he is 75 and did have hernia surgery only 15 days ago:

DA ROOF, DA ROOF, DA ROOF was on Fire!

Hopefully this Grasshoppa is better able to handle being in Satchmo's general vicinity than the last one.

Ornette Coleman was, indeed, fantastic, especially considering the outside circumstances that Satchmo listed. However, even without him, this would have been an awesome show, the rhythm section (Denardo Coleman on drums, Greg Cohen and Tony Falanga on bass) was groovin' high, to say the very least.
