Pete Townshend Vs. Freddie Mercury
Whos your favorite superstar? Right now I'm leaning more towards Freddie but I'm going to listen to some more The Who? tracks including another run through of Tommy.

Freddie was one of the gosh darndest people to ever wear pants and sing in front of people, no doubt about it. But, I vote for Pete. Even with his little dry spells he's still managed to write a good gob of my very favorite songs. And he's something of a showman himself.

Showman/instrument prowess wise I'd go with Freddie, but really, I gave my vote to Pete just because he's way more intense

One of the greatest song writers, showman, guitarist, and an absolute rock forefather, vs some guy with a good voice. Hmmmm.

Hey, Freddie was just as big an icon, and an even better showman, if this were based on talents I'd go with Freddie, but it asked which is my favourite, so I went with Townshend, like I said: more intense

Freddie is an icon cause he played the part very well. Pete is an icon because he's an icon. Being glam does not make Freddie a better showman than Pete either...
Not to mention the lyrics to Queen songs are serious contenders for campiest crap of all time. That being said they actually made some good music and I like the guys, but putting Freddie up against the brains of the Who is like not right.

What a bizzare pairing...I'll go with Pete for his musical and literary genius.

This is no contest. Pete is a very talented writer and musician. Freedy was a flaymboyant rock star. As the Rev said, a very strange pairing indeed. In my opinion, these two should not be against each other in this type of poll. Queen's best album's don't even stand up next to The Who's best albums.
