so. how to set it up properly without the foot controller?
i mean, is it possible to just plug the guitar to the line-in of the (PCI) soundcard or is it really necessary to have some kind of a preamp (be it standalone preamp or external soundcard integrated kind)?
i've tried the first approach and it didn't work for me, i'm just wondering if anybody managed to set it up and use it the way i tried to.

i've done it in the past without a preamp. just make sure you adjust your sound properties so that the card is set to record instead of playback. you'd get a better sound with a preamp but you should still be able to record a clear signal with just a direct line between the guitar and the soundcard.

yeah, it took me some time to set it up properly. anyway, i did it with a little help from www.asio4all.com. almost no latency on my lame-oh shite soundcard = neat!
