Autechre - Untilted
Picked up a promo from ebay (UK).
First impressions? Who cares! I find that their albums grow on the listener.
There is, as with Draft, a theme running through the album. I cannot quite put it into words. Some parallels are there with Draft's production 'Augmatic Disport' recalling for me time sig manipulation from Theme from a sudden roundabout.
the snares and claps are more traditional than in their previous work. Every track has a high tempo - more drill n bass like LP5.
Ås we all know, putting AE into words is like.......
'sublimit' - the final track, comes in at over 15 minutes. The whole album is just under 70 mins. There are more discernible "loops" here than in Draft.
This is a crap review i know but it's as if AE have taken together all their previous work, processed it through an array of low tech gear, thrown in some dustbin lids and sped everything up to over 200 bpm - more like a cross beween Confield and Draft....or Ae meet squarepusher and Aphex....or both

I'm waiting for the real CD. I have downloaded the leak but I haven't listened to it yet. I'm only using it to compare when I get the real CD.

Dead right Zlatko, MP3 does not do justice to such music. The promo is the original from Warp though. Another thought is that some tracks on the album remind me of 19 headaches on Peel sessions 2
I'm not comparing these tracks mind, just trying to make analogies with their oher work.

Well, having given it a good bashing suffice it to say you won't be disappointed...
I think it's their best album to date. More complex rhythms and breathtaking sound production. It all makes for a superb live show which i can't wait to see.....

Is this the release with Augmatic Disport, The Trees, yada yada? I keep hearing about this on Soulseek, I'm not sure weather it's real or not, I keep getting mixed reports. Either way, I've got a preorder at Borders, I'll wait it out.

apparently there are 2 leaks and I got the first one. The first one is purported as more real as the 2nd, although I feel that it HAS to be autechre. If what i'm hearing is right, i must agree that it's one of my favorites from them. I will definitely buy the album, though.
Having 2 leaks on soulseek is great advertising anyway. People want to know which one is real, therefore they go buy it.
