Why? How is it any different

depends on the bitrate. i rip all my cds at 224 and up, so....i hardly notice a difference. 192 and below i can defiinitely notice a change

you can honestly notice a change from 192 and below? I can from 128 and below

i guess the way i worded it, it didn't come off right. I was basically saying that i couldn't tell a difference really from 192-128 in sound quality, yet he appears to have a better ear than I.

Yeah, the sound production is so clean with Autechre and there is so much going on at any instant that MP3 compression loses too much.

This is an album that has more of a techno influence. It's still intelligent and complex, but also dark. There are no ambient tracks on the album, each track is at a furious tempo. The change in programming within each track is breathtaking with drum and bass, dub, electro, hip-hop and amazing samples. It sounds incredible too, loads of reverb, delay, timestretching...it's got everything. A proper sound system is required to fully appreciate it. Hence seeing them live would be a treat and a half for those of us lucky enough to make it.....

Autechre are older now than when they did Draft. And you can tell that they've picked up a few more tricks. This album is so full of these tricks that, even after about four listens, i crave more and more....it's a drug in itself....sorry if this all sounds over the top but it really is a feast for the ears and imagination....like reading a good book that you can't put down

and yes, i can honestly tell a different....and sometimes a difference between 192 and 224, but, that isnt always the case.

I can from 192 down, but only after I stacked the two formats up against each other. 128 seems almost canned in comparison.
