I like the sound of Pentangle. Although they are not highly acidic, they present traditional music with an expansive vibe. Especially appealing to me is the rhythm section, who swing and improvise. They also feature two top shelf acoustic guitarists (duel guitars is always a good sign) and Jacki McShee's clear, steady voice. Their first album, Pentangle, is a nice place to start.
On a more trippy note, Pearls Before Swine have a non traditional folky flair that is totally stoned. The album, Balaklava, is a walk in gossamer imagery.
Some of the music of guitarist/composer John Martyn could be thought of as acid folk. I'm thinking of his album, Inside Out. I'm sure he has more in that vein. Even his 1980 album, Grace and Danger, although more modern, produced and electricfied, has a touch of acid folk appeal.

I'm currently enjoying Comus a lot. They were pretty scary for a folk band! Espers is told to be a contemporary Comus, but although I like them at least as much, I think they're still quite different. II is fabulous.
The Pentangle is very good indeed. I've also purchased Trees' On the Shore, which is supposedly acid folk as well, but it doesn't impress that much so far.
And the Fairport Convention stuff and company, but they're more "convention"al, I reckon. But still good.

Great bands. Hopefully you have COMUS' "First Utterance". Incredible album.
