I guess I didn't see this thread earlier, God Forbid was one of my recommendations in your other thread. I wouldn't call them death metal, as they're quite melodic at times. They've got a bit of a european influence, but they aren't part of the 'Gothenburg' sound. God Forbid themselves are influences of bands like Trivium (you might like them as well, check out the new album "Ascendancy").

I think it's closest to Death Metal too (death metal can be very melodic at times - take Whoracle/Colony era In Flames for example). I love God Forbid, but I only have Gone Forever. I heard one song off Determination and really didn't like it. Gone Forever is a great album though. Not a bad song on it. And agreed, Trivium is great if you like God Forbid.

I listened to Gone Forever; pretty good album with some really killer riffs, though it has a more Soilwork/Killswitch Engage-ish singing which to me does not compare well with Anders.
