Slash is good. the rest of GnR is passable. they sound too 80's for me.

I wish you wouldn't include Geddy with Axl. I know what you're saying though, Geddy has toned it down over the last few years. He used to sing songs only dogs could hear

I like the Use Your Illusion albums, regardless of how bloated they may be. I like some of the songs alot, like Coma, Rotten Apples, The Garden, Dust N' Bones, 14 Years, Yesterdays, Breakdown, Pretty Tied Up, Estranged, So Fine, You Could Be Mine. Wow, I like alot of the songs! But from now on, I don't think I am going to listen to "November Rain"....I just don't see the point in pissing myself off.

As for Appetite for Destruction, I don't feel so compelled to listen it anymore, but I do like Out ta Get Me and Rocket Queen.

I thought Guns 'N Roses Appetite For Destruction was amazing in that they made a great rock album and probably the best in glam-rock. Poison, Warrant, Motely Crue, etc. I cant stand. Axl Rose really lost it after AFD. He went in a entirely different direction his bandmates wanted to go. Though I thought Use Your Illusions I & II was a great follow-up album for AFD. Suprisingly GNR were the only ones to still be a fan favorite in the mainstream from the grunge explosion. But after Axl Rose destroyed the band in pieces, lol. I saw a picture of him in the 2002 concert (or 2003 can't remember). He's gained some weight lol.

GNR were not glam or a hair band.

Sorry, but back in the day when they came out, them and Motley Crue were the wild, crazy, kickass bands of rock. Most of you were conceived the same time that Appetite For Destruction was conceived, so I wouldnt expect you to understand (those of you that were around at the time that dont like them Ill never understand). Music was ALOT different than it is now back then. IMO they were the best that was offered at the time. I mean, imagine this. At the time, when you watched MTV, it was Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, The Bangles, The B-52's, Mike and the Mechanics, Phil Collins, Poison, VIRTUALLY NO RAP (too bad that didnt last) on MTV, etc.., It was a way different time. Maybe it has just stuck with me, but I really think Slash was/is an amazing guitarist and the band just meshed really well and at the time, their wild lifestyle made it that more interesting.

AFD was HARDLY the best going around. Yeah, if all you watched was MTV, you got what you deserved. A bunch of Winger, Poison, and Bon Jovi. Appetite, against that grouping, is always going to come out the winner. But Metallica and Slayer had already released their signature albums by then. MTV's best years were the first 2 or 3, when they were showcasing the "new wave" bands that the radio was refusing to touch at the time.

By the way, outside of Slash, the B-52's have far more talent than Guns and Roses in their prime. I'll concede your point on the rest of those bands, though. But the truth is most of what you listed...would look pretty damn good next to what you could hear by tuning in to the radio today.

In fact, Warrant might even look bet...nah.
