KINGS OF LEON – AHA SHAKE HEARTBREAK
[RCA]

Kings of Leon are three brothers, Caleb Followill on pipes, Nathan Followill on skins and Jared Followill on slaps and their cousin Matthew on licks. Formed in the southern U.S. of A. in 2000, their debut EP, Holy Roller Novocaine, and debut album, Youth And Young Manhood, were released in 2003 to much critical enthusiasm. With their sophomore album, Aha Shake Heartbreak, the good times should continue to roll on.
Now, if you’re looking deep lyrical messages than stop reading right now. For the most part the subjects range from getting drunk to getting laid. When they do hint at something deeper, the Followill’s remain so opaque that you can never be sure to take them seriously or not.
If, on the other hand, you’re looking for something to simply rock-out to, well then this album is a good time. The band is tight, the riffs are great and the southern twanged vocals are so much fun you’ll be singing along long before you know the words.
Oh, but if you’re looking for something to listen to on your computer, don’t. The CD carries automatically installing software for a very scary, computer crippling media player. It’s insane.

I know what you mean. I love his voice too.
