i am busy as well, but i must say that everyday is pretty exciting. you don't know what will happen next. school is going well, but i must say that it is nice to know that spring break is this coming week. even though i enjoy my studies here at Cleveland State, i need a break. i am going to be practicing Bach's Prelude in D minor, Chopin's Nocturne in Bb minor and Debussy's Interrupted Serenade from the book of Preludes. it looks like i'll be performing after break. the performance will be the Chopin from memory, so i need to work extra hard!
currently in composition, i have been working on the next movement since the completion of the original idea i posted here a while back. so far i have sketches, but they will soon be transcribed into detailed notation this next week. a friend (former composition major who is now changing majors) Baixi is going to orchestrate the introduction, but im not yet sure about the instrumentation, so that's pretty exciting.
as far as electronics, i am trying to come up with more material. i have scratched a couple of ideas off of the list and will try to recycle some of the features i liked about them for newer tracks. so i guess you could say that there is an expected release near in the future from me. actually i would even say two releases; one of them ambient, and the other is the usual styles that i work with. ive been trying to use new drum kits and sounds, but i must say i really enjoyed the previous sounds that i worked with for the Recap Bin tracks. those were great to work with, but now i guess you could say that the sounds are more stripped down for a concentration on melody and atmosphere. i am finding that i'd rather focus on rhythms even still, but it's worth a try to step out of my comfort zone for a while.
im really digging this EFM album "Thought Process Disorder." it shifts signatures like Autechre, but has that processed chaos of Devine. i find that to be a great combination. it's just brilliant stuff..of course some could say it's overprocessed, but what's wrong with that? i find it to be enlightening! anyhow, cheers to you guys and your endeavors. i hope to post some newer random pictures of myself to exploit my freakizms. hah
