although they can come over as pretentious, they sometimes use their fame to achieve something... Bono tries to reduce the debt of the third world countries, is that bad? okay it may seem as if he's making himself popular by doing such things, but you can't pinpoint it all on that...

Bono has done some wonderful things, using his fame/money to asssist. U2 hasn't put out much good music in the last 20+ years, but I wouldn't knock him at all for his contributions.

The Beastie Boys, too, have been something of a postive vocal force in their time (Tibet immediately comes to mind). But this KFC thing is hardly what we need to be looking at, and they should know it. PETA is a corrupt bunch of spoiled brats that uses the honest issue of animal rights to further their own personal agendas, often breaking the law and endangering humans in the process. On the heels of such a rotten album, you'd think the B-Boys would have more sense than to go after a fast food chain. First of all, the KFC allegations are hardly a new revelation. Second, the stuff just isn't good for you.

Hopefully when they go back to trumpeting real issues, they'll have a real album out as well. They were a lot more relevant when both of these things were true. Hell, I'd just take some good music at this point

good catch...

But it doesn't change the fact that 5 Boroughs was thoroughly weak album
