Joanna Newsom !!

What do you think about her?? I say its the best thing that has happened to music in some years and I totally love her music. But then I only know two other persons that like her music...the rest totally hated her
So what do you think about her??

ha I see that =)
But hey she deserves the attention... I mean I'm in other forums and nobody heard of her, so I was getting a little frustrated until I thought "uhhmmm I remember this music forum that is not just for somebody to help you figure out the name of a song...., and *bang*" I ended up in here =)

I'll probably end up checking her out. I've been listening to albums by a couple of female vocalist that I'm really enjoying; Vashti Bunyan and Joni Mitchell(I'm sure everyone but me has heard them, but hey I'm trying to expand my tastes).

yeah check CocoRosie! I saw them live a few months ago, with Anthony & the Johnsons and they were ace! two wicked sisters with a harp, kid's synthesizers & taperecorder, guitar and piano... one sister with a sweet, nearly operatic but not irritating voice and the other with a cracking, Joanna-ish voice... wonderfully dreamy... they have just one record out La Maison de Mon RĂªve, but it's wonderful...

Sandy Dillon is also worth checking out, I have two albums Electric Chair and Nobody's Sweetheart... the first one is rootsy and raw, the second one more pop-ish... I prefer the first one, but the second has some memorable moments as well...

In the end, what we have are these little, great moments. They come and they go. That's as good as it gets. But, still, isn't that great?
