i JUST finished posting this in another thread, and it shares my views on the used and my chemical romance and good charlotte and all those bands....

***heres what i notice. MTV pumps certain bands that have a "punk" sound for people who are trying to be punk but only know how to be something if they see it on tv... good charlotte had a punk sound and image for these kids to immitate so that they could feel "punk", did anyone notice? so, that band with its strong image was leading hordes of mtv kids who didnt fit into the rap or pop world that MTV was so strongly based around.... good charlotte lead the posers for a while basically... now the used show up all over mtv and i cant hear a GC song even if i wanted to (which i dont) and all the posers have a new caesar! what i notice is that the image differance between GC and the used isnt too far off.. its still dark and emotional and they even sound alike. so the posers have an easy time adjusting to their new "hardcore punk band thats so sweet and hardcore". so thats why the used is the new poser band.. because mtv is pumping the used on tv so much, and the posers all seem to follow the image. greenday is still in the race too however...***

Shit man!!! good charlotte sucks big time abit less sucky is green day(but they still suck) .The used and Mcr rock but u discrimate them for being on MTV. if mcr and the used did not appear on mtv at all i tink all u REAL POSERS would b worshipping them. I for one started listening to mcr way b4 they appeared on mtv this year. Mtv does put many shitty bands GC simple plan etc for poppy loving ppl but the used and mcr ROCKS and r in a totally different category (take it away, i m a fake)two songs by the used dat really rock. Because U r a poser( spreading u pussy for the camera) u dont wan to be associated with all bands on MTV because u r scared of classified as a "mtv kid". U tink u r better more hardcore but IN fact, u r depriving urself of 2 great bands.

what my problem is, is that these kids go around listening to the used and MCR and splurt out how punk they are and post threads about these bands that arent true punk IN the punk section. i surf this section for punk bands, not gay bands... thats why you have a "general rock" section to surf around. i want to learn about New york hardcore/DC hardcore, i want to learn about bad brains, i want to hear peoples opinions on dead kennedies, i want to hear about how johny ramone drums for the misfits... NOT about how cool a non punk band is like MCR.

i cant say im a punk, cuz im not... but i AM big on punk rock and hardcore and ska and all the hard working bands that dont rely on mass exposure to get their success. most bands on MTV these days might work for their exposure, but they dont work for their success. i guarantee that 9 out of 10 bands popular on MTV are only popular because of exposure rather than actual good music.

and i swear to fuck if anyone claims that i'm a punk that i'm going to slap them in the face, im not a punk. and by not being something, i cant be a poser either. punks dont dress like me, they wouldnt be in the same line of work as me, and they probably would be a lot sweeter than me.

Just let it die, instead of bumping these threads with petty rants about Mtv. Mtv has always played what is easily accessible/trendy, this is nothing new. Get over it, if you don't like it, then don't watch it.

It's that simple, so stop your bitching.
