it's all good. i'd say 'to live is to die' is probably the best instrumental metallica recorded.

"To Live is To Die" does actually have a poem in the middle, but considering its sheer length, it remains an insturmental. I didn't know though, that it was Cliff saying it. I only saw that he got songwriting credit, which must have been another slap in the face to Newstead.

true hehehe i suppose not having the bass being audible is a pretty solid slap. giving credit to the creator over the performer is hardly what i'd call a slap though especially considering that newsted was a big fan of burton's i'd call 'to live is to die' metallica's final homage to burton if nothing else.

I like to "live is to die" but I prefer Orion.

Darediablo are an instrumental band on "Southern Records" all of thier lastest album "Twenty paces" is great. Other instrumentals that I like off the top of my head include:

One of these days "Pink Floyd"
Cecilia Ann "The pixies"
Wedding cake island "Midnight Oil"
Bathory "Odens ride over nordland"

and how about the entire album "Kind of blue"?

I'm sure that there are hundreds more but Ive go to go
