I'm looking for rhymes about politics. I already know Immortal Technique (and like him a lot!). Do you guys know more rappers that are politically conscious?
Don't say something like Eminem just because of Mosh...
Public Enemy Paris N.W.A. Ice Cube (at least his first couple recordings) The Last Poets The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy X-Clan KRS-One Gil Scott-Heron
YO & WORD!
As you can see, I am old school.

Yeah exactly, those of your list that I know are definitely old school. Thank you for that, but I'm looking for more recent material.
You see, I'd like to show my friends that there's still the spirit of criticism and resistance in hiphop culture, as it was so omnipresent in the old days. Today's rap game seems to be played by the pimps and hustlers, but I'm sure there's also an political (underground) movement.
Mos Def and Talib Kweli are concious MC's.. also check out Mr Lif. Zack de la rocha from Rage Against the Machine is a politically based MC but most of his good work is to rock instrumentals with Rage. But he will be coming out witha solo album sometime.. El-P is going to produce it. But the best political stuff out there to me is Public Enemy.

If you can find live and rare or any cds with "hadda be played on the jukebox" by rage against the machine, I think that oughta be about what you are looking for, if you want a deep swipe at america and capitalism, covers most of the basics and its and allen ginsberg poem.
