how is downbeat these days?

i know that back in the day downbeat used to be the shit as far as jazz mags go, but im wonderin if they have the same quality nowadays, maybe like the way rolling stone has become for rock? though hopefully not that bad!!

for those in the know, should i bother subscribing? ive never seen the thing on newsstands, but i managed to find the website and its lookin pretty cool. so yeah, worth it or not?

Cadence has a magazine, and they are also a distributor and an online music store. However, their reviews of the in house Cadence and CIMP labels releases are not objective.


Those labels have excellent releases, but not all of them are as good as the Cadence magazine would have you believe.


You also get a discount on the cds sold if you are a subscriber to the magazine.
