Favorite Producers
I see there is already a thread on favorite Lyricists/MC's, but I don't see a thread on everyone's favorite Producers so I decided to make one. Personally I love Dan the Automator.. I haven't heard anything from him I didn't like production wise.. Deltron3030 was out of this world.. literally. I also like Prince Paul.. he's really a pioneer that I respect more than a personal favorite. Their work together as Handsome Boy Modeling School was quite weird and different but I loved their new Album "White People," despite the fact that they allowed Linkin Park vocals on the record. Whatever.. I also enjoy DJ Shadow and RJD2, as well as the more mainstream guys like Dre and DJ Premier. MF Doom has some great production on all of his albums, the best probably on Madvillain by Madlib, so those two would another addition to my list of favorits.
What about the rest of you guys... what producers are you favorites?
On a side note, anyone heard of Canadian artists mcenroe or birdapes? Very talented producers as well.

Good call with Dan the automator.... 3030 is an nicredible album... more mainstream, I'm a fan of kanye west and his work... his college dropout was a solid album, and i also enjoy a few songs he produced for others (Jay-z's 'encore', dialated people's 'this way' comes to mind)

Kanye is pretty good.. he did some nice tracks for Talib. Dude gets alot of hate by rap fans because of all the glory and exposure he gets now that he's a solo artist too, but I say better him than some of the other popular guys out...
Jay's Encore is bangin'...I don't get why a guy like Jay who works with some of the best producers in the industry would do a collab with LP and trade the great beats by guys like Rick Rubin and 9th wonder for Linkin Park's instrumentals.. baffles the hell outta me.

Madlib with his Madvillain is my pick. Have tried hard to find anything that resembles his production on that album, but have come up short. MF Doom has the same style, but I don`t think the production is clean enough; the MC`ing seems out of sync with what is going on behind, to put it plainly.
Also, The Neptunes are doing a great job with Snoop Dog, alltough maybe not something I would sit down and LISTEN to.

Prince Paul is easily what comes to mind when I see this thread, with something like '3 Feet High and Rising' under his belt it's hard to really contend.
Hi-Tek is another that comes to mind, Reflection Eternal got soo much play from my cd player and I owe a lot of that to him.
Beatminerz did an incredible job on Smif n Wesson's - Da Shinin so I guess I'll mention them, that album is something VERY different.
Cut Chemist has done a lot of stuff I like, as well as Dre and I'm gonna agree with Haakon here, the Neptunes.
Can't believe I forgot RZA, he's got a ton of stuff in his collection and I must say I enjoy most of it.

Meech Wells - Anybody, anybody know him? He has done a lot of tracks for Snoop Dogg. Don't make him whack by association, though I like Snoop, because he's only behind the beats, which are after all only beats.
BattleKat - ^Ditto
Ant - With Slug, it's Atmosphere. Seven's Travels has some good beats, and from what I have heard from God Loves Ugly, it's the same story.
The Soulquarians - Produced, I believe, every single track on Common's Like Water For Chocolate. Cold Blooded will prove my point of how brilliant they are.
and the goes-without-saying...:
-Kanye West
-Dr. Dre
