Shuggie was the man. Johnny raised a helluva guitarist. Forgotten genius.

Ever check out some of the work he did with his father's band? If not, try these: "Bad Luck Shadow", "Slow Fuse", and "Barrelhouse Blues". He did some great stuff with Sugarcane Harris too. "12:15 Slow Goonbash Blues" is stellar.

Sam Cooke probably had the best voice ever in soul music, he was a talented song writer. Its a pity he died before he could get into more political writing as he showed in 'A Change is Gonna Come'. He was a great artist

Songs-
A change is gonna come
You Send Me
I'll Come Running Back to You
Win Your Love
Touch the Hem of His Garment
Jesus Gave me Water

Plus every other song.

Don't forget Sam and Dave. They may have hated each other's guts like poison, but they laid down some sweet tunes. "Hold On, I'm Coming"
