early 90's music
Man, the early 90's ruled!! What I miss the most about this period is the cool, soulful rithm of the club music. I'm talking Lisa Stanfield/ Black Box/ Swing Out Sister type of stuff. Those were tunes that you could dance to and still understand the lyrics. Man , do I miss the elegance in those days!! Back then people really knew how to dress up to go to a club or a party. those of us who are old enough might still remember the ugly mid 80's with the whole breakdance influence in music and fashion. I mean you would go to a club and find these people who looked like if they raided their granny's closet and put the first thing they found there. Then, around 93/94 the whole grunge look came into full fashion. Clubs were invaded by all these unshaven, uncombed, dirty looking X-gens...... But there was that brief moment in history, between 1988 and 1992, which I'll always consider the best looking groovy years of the late XX century....
