Prince

Let's have a discussion about Prince. You can discuss any era of his musical career.

What are your favourite songs and albums of his?
I enjoy the classics like 'I Wanna Be Your Lover', '1999', 'Raspberry Beret', 'When Doves Cry', 'Kiss', 'Sign O' The Times', and most recently the excellent title track from 2004's 'Musicology'.

'Little red corvette' is my fav!

He always had that funny looking guitar...and he had hot chicks in his videos long before it became a trend.

I used to like "1999" and "Controversy" a lot but, I don't know, they haven't really held up for me.
The one that HAS held up is 'Sign O' the Times' I think it's far and away my favorite thing he's done. He's done a lot of big magillas before and sense but that one has an emotional quality to it.

For me anyway. Nice to see him back kicking audiences in the teeth again. I never saw him live but I've seen MANY people become instant Prince fans over the years just by virtue of being dragged by fans to his live show.

My favorite album by far is Sign O' The Times.

I have quite a few favorite tunes. "1999", "Purple Rain", "Take Me With U", "Let's Go Crazy", "4 The Tears In Your Eyes", "Around The World In A Day", "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man", "Play In The Sunshine", "Strange Relationship", "The Cross", "Mountains", and "7" are the ones I immediately think of.

The man is a genius...and a very strange character. I'm not always comfortable with his lyrics, but his musical gifts are totally astounding.

Musicology is a sweet album. Pretty sweet guy if you can learn to recognize him and actually appreciate him.

Prince is by far my favourite artist. His able to do so many genres and do them so well, not to mention the fact that he plays like 30 instruments. Songs like 'If I was your girlfriend' of course the classic 'when doves cry' are just fragments of the spectrum of Princes genius. Prince has that factor that no one has. The man keeps the music coming, his creative ability never ends, He has countless songs that haven't been published, the myterious 'Vault'. Prince is mystery within a mystery.

I saw Prince on some unplugged show a few months ago, he is amazing with the accoustic guitar, he makes it look so simple, and yet plays it so much better than most
