sorry to seem like a prick, but i would hardly call Warp or Spymania experimental/avant-garde labels...but perhaps that's just me....

Well perhaps we have different ideas about the term "experimental". I would hold up the records that Squarepusher, D.I.A.L., Wafta, Autechre and even Max Tundra's early Children at Play 12" (on Warp) to anything that has been released on Cuneiform or Thrill Jockey. have you heard the Conumber EP that Squarepusher released on Spymania? Makes me think of some kind of electro-Xenakis in some spots.
So far there's a bias (probably unconcious) toward more live experimental/avant-garde musics: i.e. improvisational, etc. To that end I wanted to be a little more inclusive of my personal tastes and expand the discussion a bit.
and while I'm at it I thought of a few more labels that I like:
ECM
and the dearly departed CMP and These

well, Experimental is such a broad term when you try to classify different types of music. There's experimental jazz, electronic, rock, etc...so one's interpretation of the word "experimental" may be a bit different. For the time it was released, i'd definitely call Squarepusher's stuff experimental, although when everyone started somewhat conforming to styles such as his and as he matured as a musician, I would call him more of a Drill n'bass/IDM artist than anything.
Now let me ask you. Out of these two artists, who would you classify as experimental?

Wasn't planning on going to Melbourne. At least, not for that. However, you might not want to look at this

It's actually just a small part of this... I'm too busy to go to that, but it does go for about six hours...
