Because you say every song is purely and religiously 'by-the-book', that lets me know for a fact that you haven't heard every song in Christian music. I can list oodles of songs in Christian music that do not fit that description at all.

There is just something funny, with the Good Rev using oodles, in a sentence.

Rev, watch out he might break out, and tell you it's a fact, which you can't deny.

My mother always talked about oodles, so it's deeply implanted in my psyche. Maybe I should consider getting some counselling about that...

ok i didn't think the "every song" line would taken literally but obviously there'd be no humanly possible way i could've heard every single christian song ever released on the planet. but out of the many that i HAVE heard, they all share that same thing.

and satchmo, you totally miss my point (in the jazz forum) in order to start some kind of debate. i'm not saying there's anything wrong with ppl liking jazz, i love jazz, but out of everyone i know and ppl they know lol, and etc. etc., very few of them like jazz. maybe it's just where i live in and no where else, i don't know, but that's what i observed.

so i'm not implying anything. there's no reason to take this personal, jesus christ i have to break this down so an elementary schooler can understand it.

One of my christian classmates says that a television company in India, called Onida is satanic because they use this guy in their advertisements.

In my personal experience it is christians who say the silliest things. Like for example one church worker started arguing with my father about how Jesus Christ could cure cancer with a simple prayer while even a thousand hindu gods together couldn't cure a simple headache.
What is even more amazing is that these people actually truly and seriously believe the things they say.
I guess this has not much to do with christian music per se, but what I'm getting at is that most of christian music is shallow and terribly preachy, which is why I dislike that genre in general.

Christians don't have the franchise on saying silly things. How about blowing up the infidels so you can hang out with seventy virgins for eternity?

I don't think people should write music just for the sake of having it religious. If that's what they're inspired to, then they have my blessing. But if their whole music catalog is about the religion and in no way about the music, I don't really see the point. The same goes for sacrilegious music.
