Dang, I'm a woman?
You know, maybe I should change my name...is LinkinPrkFrk still availible?
On the other hand, if I could just find a decent pic of me...that would take care of it right there!
For the record, I did hear "Pull Me Under" a fair amount on the radio when DT first came out, but nothing after that. The radio was still open to that type of rock when the band hit. But Genesis, you're certainly right on the lack of airplay now. I was indeed talking about the music itself. There are times when I've listened to a song by DT and felt like I was being brainwashed. One example is "Metropolis, Part I".

I always start doing that when I first refer to you in posts, but sometimes forget to catch myself. I know you're a guy, it's just that the name sounds feminine when I'm typing it.
I'll edit the post.

too bad MusicKnowItAll is already taken! it wouldn't fit you though actually as you don't know that much about music... not enough to take on that name at least

I have failed to see the greatness of Phil Collins...I am not worthy
I got the name from the video game Sacrifice and don't know of any other time the name was used (I've been trying to find out if there's something more significant, actually). The character in the game was indeed a female - a female snake with a voice that sounds like she smokes too much, to be exact. I always figured it would be no big deal to use it, and in fact Saba's revelation was the first time I've thought of the actual name as feminine. "Xena" I could see, but Seerix always seemed neutral to me
When I Google "Seerix" I get a bunch of dead links to web pages describing the Sacrifice game, and then I get results for my own profile on Radiomute.

It also reminded me of the Rush song. Syrinx, Seerix...close enough.

forgot to mention that I've always enjoyed the PLATYPUS albums, kind of a DT side venture with Ty Tabor. The first PLATYPUS album, "When Pus Comes to Shove" is great stuff, much more interesting to me than any of the actual DT stuff. I think Portnoy plays drums...

Platypus is one of the few dream theater side projects in wich portnoy is not involved.
Myung plass bass and Derek Sherinan plays keyboards
Defending myself about the TOT commentary, By that date, I hadn't heard Ride The Lightning, NOW THAT IS SOME MIND BLOWING METAL!

dream theater - have their albums and they're good but sometimes you just have to be in the mood.
btw my favourite bands/artists: tool, a perfect circle, nin, faith no more, ratm, the cure, depeche mode, beck, bowie, floyd, in the woods..., dt, .....
(and my writing sucks big time so sorry)
