[Wayofftopic] Actually, my favorite Uz Jsme Doma recording is their live performance in Vancouver, 1997 that I got as a bonus disk when I ordered all their albums from astroclam a few years back. Honestly, the sound quality and vocal / instrumental performance on that disk blows away all of their studio work.

It kind of pissed me off actually, since I only realized this after spending $80 on their entire catalogue. I probably would've been happy with just that release! [/Wayofftopic]

I don't know. I always thought of Setzer as Rockabilly. I guess it's similar to Swing in a lot of ways.

Towards the rock spectrum:

Squirrel Nut Zippers
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Towards the jazz spectrum

Cab Calloway
Ella Fitzgerald
Louis Armstrong

Get a fakebook. It's a giant catalogue of jazz standards consisting of a chord charts and melodies for each piece.

Alright thanks!

But for the fakebook, if I understand well, there is no complete arrangement, so I guess we need some improvisation skills?

Well, I'm sure a lot of old swing music has written out parts (sans solos). I've never tried to find any myself, so...

Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus...etc. wrote out parts for their band members. Are these scores available to the public? I don't know.

Yep I know jazz is mostly improvised, just wanted to make sure...

Oh and also, I downloaded some Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, which i alreay knew a bit, and I found:

-Sing, Sing, Sing
-Detroit Swing City
-Zoot Suit Riot
-Jitter Bug
-Fire

Fire is the only song that I can say I'm sure it really belongs to the voodoo daddies, but I really doubt for the rest. I think that Cherry Popping Daddies made Zoot Suit Riot, and Detroit Swing City belongs to Alien Fashion Show. Could i get some clarifications on this plz?
