I dunno, Chris Cornell is pretty damn talented. He can crack his voice well, keep it low, scream, and all sorts of crazy stuff. And it looks like it hurts for him to sing, which actually did happen in '96 or so....

(but anyways....)
Most bands that have a wide following have good singers...it's just part of the formula for a good band. And all these different singers will have different textures that match their band's sonic texture; this is one reason I don't really approve of Audioslave's exploits. I couldn't imagine Smashing Pumpkins without Billy Corgan singing...or even Megadeth without Dave Mustaine (even though he definitely ain't the best singer). The vocals, guitars, and drums become one entity, and it is more a matter of taste than ranking.

Overall, Paul McCartney.
But Plant, Daltrey, and Freddie can all belt it out pretty well

All great singers. Out of those Freddie was the best.

I'm partial to Ian Curtis but it's not cuz of his voice. Best voice I'd probably go with Plant, Coldplay's guy's not bad either...(just bad enough so I can't recall his name at the moment Martin or something.) Thom Yorke is also excellent and Jack Black (dont laugh, he's good when he wants to be)

For females it's a little easier, I like Tori Amos, Karen O, Joanna Newsom and Avril (STOP LAUGHING) all for different reasons.

Fher from ManĂ¡ is pretty good. So, as of now, here's my list (in no particular order): Chris Cornell, Fher Olvera, Thom Yorke, Sting, Maynard James Keenan.....that's it, I give up!! There's absoultely no point in this list!!!!
