Tsunami Relief/Aid Concert

I was watching some of the concert for relief for the Tsunami victems, most of it was alright, but leave it to Madonna to ruin yet another song for me...>>

Did anyone else catch it?

It was a great laugh.

I am not sure which the funniest moment was. Nelly performing while draped in a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of diamonds, all the women in designer clothes that cost thousands, or those actors making $50 mil a film answering the phone.

It was Imagine that Madonna butchered.

NBC probably spent more money putting it on the air than will be donated.

All in all, funny as hell.

The only worthwhile moment was Roger Waters & Eric Clapton performing, Wish you were here.

I heard Brian Wilson performed. I think a member of his band is missing.

I hate Nelly so much. I just saw another 'new' rapper or whatever on the video station today...guess what? He was doing something that I have NEVER seen a rapper do before...throwing money around in his video...yes...CUTTING EDGE STUFF!! It was a song called "I'm So Fly". That's ANOTHER FIRST by a rapper...talking about how great he is in his own song...

...the business of music has nearly killed music.

Last night. For me, Brian Wilson and Elton John were the best moments. I didn't watch the whole thing, because I got very weepy during some of the documentary portions, and decided maybe it was best for me (especially on the night before I do my church responsibilities) to refocus a bit.

Yes, one of Brian's band members was lost in the disaster. It was during Brian's singing of "Love and Mercy" that I really started falling apart. At the end of the song, Brian looked out into space and said, quite emotionally, "We love you, Markus!" (Markus Sandlund is the name of the band's cellist who is missing). That was almost more than I could handle.

Elton John did a great solo performance of "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me". The lyric seemed almost eerily appropriate.

Elton John isn't too welcome in Asia these days, especially in Taiwan.

A couple of months ago Elton John was calling people in Taiwan, "Rude, vile pigs". His performance yesterday, just came off like most of the rest of those involved. One big PR stunt.

I taped it and haven't had a chance to see it yet. Think I'll fast forward through Nellie, Madonna and Brian Wilson. Can't wait to see Clapton and Waters.

No, ambushed is what his people in trying to clean up the mess are calling it. Reporters in Asia swarm around celebrities like that. Keep in mind; Elton was big in the news before that. His attacks on Madonna, and the rumors that he was going to take advantage of the new same sex marriage laws in England. Meaning they were going to even more reporters there then is normal.

People in Taiwan and Asia wouldn't have been upset if he just left the insults to the reporters. But one of the reporters asked him “Why don’t you get out of Taiwan?, to which Elton responded “We’d love to get out of Taiwan if it’s full of people like you. Pig! Pig!

That's what has them, so upset with him.
