Video Game Music Cover Bands

If some of you are not familiar with video game cover music, check out the Minibosses.

In any case, Minibosses is probably the dominant band in the "genre", but I'm curious as to what other bands there. It seems to be a growing trend. Recently, while at a convention, there was an orchestral group called Select Start performing.

Conventional bands also do a lot of video game covers, namely ska/punk bands.

In any case, please feel free to share your favorite band or song in this thread.

You just gave me an idea - I'm going to try and convince my band to try a MegaMan cover. Probably Magnet Man.

Oh yeah, I love the Minibosses. They're completely addictive. Kinda like crack....but not.

The minibosses have what has to be the absolute best version of Castlevania I've ever heard. I pump my fist and bang my head in allegience when I hear it

EDIT: They changed their site a bit...the full MP3 for CV1 is no longer there...

Thanks Folcario.

Minibosses say they are redoing all thier songs. I suppose they're going to put more money into production.
In the mean time, you can check out the Neskimos, they have tons of songs availiable, but the quality isn't quite up to par with Mininbosses - at least I think so.

Well, the Hill Valley Preservation Society has a song named "Eight-bit Trilogy" that's really good. I also saw Select Start live at a con. They're ok. Their recording lacks quality, but they have some good acoustic songs. Their acoustic version of the Final Fantasy I town theme is the best, but isn't available on their website. Mr. Bungle also does a lot of covers - hard to find though.

Oh yeah! I have to mention Metroid Metal! It's really high quality stuff. I forget the band's actual name, but the MP3 is tagged.
