Shouldve Been A Single

ever think you could hav done a better job in promoting your favourite band or choosing what track should be played on the radio. what album tracks do you think shouldve been released as singles? normally for singles yure looking for something relatively short [or at least not too long] and catchy, but theres always been those rare classics that push and break the boundries of radio convention [Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Radiohead's "Paranoid Android" for example]. also, there are those albums you think might hav been better served had they chosen different singles than they did. alright, well you get the idea. here's one that came to mind when listening to the album recently- its the one that inspired this thread:

U2, "New York" from All That You Can't Leave Behind

-instead of "Stuck In A Moment That You Can't Get Out Of". ioriginally wasnt sure about this track due to the somewhat corny lyric [which ive come to lov], but the music is so powerful [recalling early classic "Out Of Control" from their first album, Boy] and you cant say that for much of this album. "Kite" wouldve made a great single as well.

Metallica's Black Album should have released Holier Than Thou instead of going with the balladish ones.

I could probably name a song on 99% of albums thats better than the single they released. It seems to be common practice to release crap. There are those 1% that do release a good one though.

I agree with "Kite", it's my favorite song of from U2 in the their last 10 years.
