Bands You Thought Were Solo Artists

Which bands did you think were solo artists?

I always thought Pink Floyd was just one person.
Same with aerosmith.
Also Crazy Horse, neil youngs back up band, I always though Crazy Horse was just one person, I assumed he was native american and was just named after htat other guy named crazy horse. But then it turned out crazy horse was a band. How crazy is that?

Also I thought Cher and Tracy Champman were men.

And I thought nick carter was a woman.

Yup, many people think that... hence the lyrics in 'Have a Cigar':

"Well I've always had a deep respect, and I mean that most sincerely.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think.
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?"

Pink Floyd is a breed of cat. So is Procol Harum, for those of you that remember them ("Whiter Shade of Pale"). Why bands named after cats? No idea. Weirder than that, I can think of three different (popular) bands that are named after a man's orgasm. So whatever.

I briefly thought Jethro Tull was a single person. Turns out they were named after a cranky-ass British farmer who had a great deal of influence on the agrictultural revolution. Who knew?

Oh, and btw: Aerosmith are indeed named after a single person--the protagonist of Sinclair Lewis' novel Arrowsmith. Or at least I've always assumed so. Though I don't know why they'd choose that name--the novel is about a doctor (I haven't read it).

spoko.

Let me see if I can guess. 10cc, The Loving Spoonful, and... Pearl Jam, maybe? Unless you're talking the actual act of reaching orgasm.

I better stop before I derail this thread any further.

My friend tried to convince me of this years ago. He almost had me believing him.

I was always under the impression that they were named after Pink Anderson and Floyd Council (who were bluesmen from America).
