The popular music of today that gets called "R&B" simply is not R&B to me. Interestingly enough, some of the best "R&B" I'm hearing these days is on "this side of the tracks". It's true, but weren't the Beatles called pop back, and isn't Britney Spears called pop nowadays? Just the same issue... Nametags and genres just shift with the times, I guess, and in this case not for the better, that's for sure...
