A Question Please

Hi all folks.
i have a question which has been haunting me for a lont time.
why are so many good-voiced singers like to promote their sales by doing something stupid, like dressing strangly like Christina. her voice is really good, but her dressings are always so unnatrual? are those really appealing to most westners?
personally, i think it is a bit absurd.

It's all about commercialism and getting paid to wear certain things so other people will think that it is "cool" and want to look the same as them. They also do this with product placement. If someone like Christina always wears a sony discman, people will think that it is cool and want to buy it.

Going back to the clothing, I think that people like christina think that they look sexy and stand out which attracts some people but personally I think it is a turn off. It's all plastic and ferral!

Unhappy

People like her probably have bosses who tell them to do that to get on the cover of the next days tabloids (original tactic, that one). I can't say that I find it terribly attractive, but thats not really the name of the game, is it? The game is, of course, publicity. God knows, someday a woman might get on the cover of the Daily Star for doing something worthwhile, but Im not holding my breath for that one. Its nice to know that in this day and age a womans intelligence and achievements get more attention flashing a bit of flesh(!).

it's undeniable that most of the female (and even male i suppose) popstars base their success to looks so they'd wear what they thought would attract audience.

most successful formula:

good looking + young hot body + super cheesy songs + bunch of sheeps = millions of dollars for the record label executives.

your forgetting the scanadlous action that provokes the conservatives of society to deem the pop star as evil and therefore giving them a stupid amount of free press and a solid direction for all the teens looking to rebel against their elders

how else would you explain eminem and marilyn manson's careers?
