Perfectly written??? Wow, I don't know. When I was younger, I would have listed "The Long And Winding Road" by the Beatles (written by Lennon/McCartney), "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys (written by Wilson/Asher), and "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel. Nowadays, I'd come closer to saying that there's no such animal.

I don't know about the other two but I'd say The Long And Winding Road is a pretty good choice, though. Maybe not perfect but very close.

yeah it looks odd, Vermilion Part 2 is nice tho ...

As for perfect written songs, im gonna go with Sun Kil Moon - Duk Koo Kim, from the utterly gorgeous Ghosts of the Great Highway (2003)

the vox, the guitar, the mandolin, the way it keeps evolving...everything in right place!

good stuff ..

Willie Nelson's version of Stardust could be the absolute perfect song IMO
Beatles - Hey Jude
Stones - Rocks Off, Wild Horses
Chuck Berry - Memphis, Johnny B. Goode
ZZ Top - Asleep In The Desert
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
