but you cannot say that our opinions our wrong. BD's statement "'89 sucked for music" was false.

I am not hiding behind "theres no right and wrong, theres no good and bad- its all just opinions" im just telling you that there is a difference between opinion and fact, which you clearly cannot grasp.

Man, people around here really need to listen to more Jazz.

I can name at least 10 classic Jazz releases from 1957:

John Coltrane - "Blue Train"
Miles Davis - "Miles Ahead"
Charles Mingus - "Tijuana Moods"
Duke Ellington - "In A Mellow Tone"
Sonny Rollins - "Way Out West"
Art Pepper - "Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section"
Herbie Mann - "Flute Souffle"
Milt Jackson - "Soul Brothers"
Ben Webster - "Soulville"
Art Taylor - "Wailers"

And honestly, who can forget these rock / pop albums:

The Crickets' "The Chirpin' Crickets"
Little Richard - "Here's Little Richard"
Bo Diddley - "Bo Diddley"

Really, Rev, what's going on? And there's 26 years between us!

1975, in no order:

Dylan - Blood On The Tracks

Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Young - Tonight's The Night

Parliament - Mothership Connection

Kiss - Alive

Sabbath - Sabotage

Willie - Red Headed Stranger

Miles - Pangaea/Agharta

Tangerine Dream - Rubycon

Decent year, especially Willie and Floyd

Yeah, I know...of course there were many great albums that year...and I'd probably love some of them...but it all comes back to that thing of "so much great music, so little time". I just haven't gotten to them yet.

Anyway, here are a few of my favorite songs from that year (I can manage that):

"Wake Up Little Susie" by the Everly Brothers
"That'll Be The Day" by Buddy Holly and the Crickets
"Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis Presley
"Young Love" by Sonny James
"Tammy" by Debbie Reynolds (Some are going to cringe at this one, but if I'm in the right mood, this little ditty can make me cry...don't ask me why, I just think it's really lovely.)

All right, that's looking better. You just startled me with the "nothing there" comment...I thought you were dismissing the entire year, musically. (( but I should've known better... ))
