Wav ripping quality

I just started using Free CD Ripper Version 2.0. It's great ! Now, this ripper allows you to rip from CDs into mp3 or wav. Question is if I rip into wav @ 1411 kbps, does that mean the quality is much better than mp3 (highest at 320 kbps) ? Can I assume that it is the same quality as the CD source itself ? Is there any theoretical difference ?
