Rashied Ali

I have been listening to a few discs that feature this ever wonderful drummer recently. I encourage all members to become involved in discourse on this drummer. Prehaps you would like to discuss on his drumming, collaborations, or albums? Maybe you would like to chat about this amusing photo:

I would like to meantion that the trio album of Assif Tsahar/Peter Kowald/Rashied Ali entitled Ideas, Deals, & Ideals is more than excellent. I believe I have previously meantioned the disc.

Regards,

Alexander

I wasn't around when you started this and have been busy.

There are of course, the Coltrane recordings, but three recordings that I would highly recommend, would be his recordings with Charles Gayle, David Murray and Peter Brotzmann.

It's as I tell Seba, you might as well just pm me, since the odds are, that I am the one going to respond to these threads.

Might just have to start a, Ask Satchmo or Dear Satchmo thread.

Charles Gayle - Touchin' on Trane
David Murray - Body & Soul
Peter Brotzmann - Songlines

Touchin on Trane is a masterpiece, which should be in every collection of fans of free.
