oh my poor sister would kill me. she listens to eartha kitt and verve recordings....which is lovely, but the closest she gets to anything electronic is radiohead.

anyhow Ill save the Empire et al for when she is a teenager and all angsty, which will be in about 13 years, so she'll be the coolest of angsty teen, shell be the retro angsty teen,

enough babble, thank you all for the help. and keep suggestions comming if you think of anything else.

I think I read somewhere that "babytalk" is a lot like singing, and that´s why we grow up to like music, and especially "accessible" music with a lot of melody. I wonder what a person who grew up without being talked to in a childish way when they were a baby would grow up to be like, and what sort of music they would like.

You need something based on patterns with a fair bit of high end in it as it's the higher frequencies and mathematical patterns that help the mind grow.

And no, I don't mean fractal patterns, I mean easily recognisable scalic patterns. Your best bet is to fuck off electronic stuff and play baroque classical with the bass turned down.

I agree, the NON stuff and even the Boyd Rice solo material is good. Just don't want to scare the little bugger too much...
