Christmas Themed Music
Anyone buying / listening to any Christmas related music?
Honestly, I usually hate Christmas music, but I did recently pick up Trans-Siberian Orchestra's " Christmas Eve And Other Stories", a lovely fusion of post-Halen progressive metal with Christmas classics...making what could quite possibly be the only Christmas album I will be able to stomach this season!
I'm also thinking of picking up Jethro Tull's christmas album from a few years back (( and on the lookout for any Christmas albums released by some notable Jazz masters )), but other than that I don't think I'll be expanding the holiday section of my collection too much this year...

I hate christmas music, ugh. And I never get into the christmas spirit either, I've never gotten any presents for christmas, and everybody else did, maybe that's why I hate it so much.

there's such a nice "christmas market" in Leuven on a square near my room and they play songs like "Jingle Bells" and that Bing Crosby one there all the time...
Even two way beyond silly varieté "artists" played there this week... okay they probably have liquor too, but I'd spent all my money on cd's for a change...

I was in the gap/jacob/generic clothing store looking for stuff for my gf today and realized how much i hate the christmas music put out by boy bands/r&b groups.. not because I hate x-mas music, but because i hate what they do to it.. i mean, there's really no reason to be doing vocal gymnastics during 'jingle bells' or 'silent night'... go to one of the aforementioned stores, and youll know what i'm talkin about
i was tryign to figure out how i could rip all the speakers out in the store, while keeping with the christmas spirit.

No matter who does the song or songs, they always sound exactly the same every time. If you (have) to (or are forced to) listen to them once, you've probably heard enough. And the 'newer' Christmas songs just don't sound like anything remotely holiday related.

If that's the way you feel, you should try the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas albums.
