Best Lyricist

Who do you think is the best lyricist? I can think of a ton that i think have good skills but personally i think aesop rock is the best though. hes got some crazy talent composing songs but also finding some good words to go with the beats he makes. so post or something

When did mediocrity and banality become a good image for your children? I want my children to listen to people who fucking ROCKED! I don't care if they died in puddles of their own vomit! I want someone who plays from his fucking HEART!" bill hicks

i'm the hottest < period >
but if you want legends, the list goes like this...

biggie
2 pac
big pun
nas ***only when he's not mad at someone for sleeping with his babymomma***
jay-z
method man ****BEFORE HE MET THAT LAME RED MAN**
lauren hill
canibus ******only in battles, not on albums****

wow that's it? yep, oh yeah, "lay it down" by eight ball and mjg had some real stuff, and paster troy had a "heaven and hell" song that was so raw you'd have to be numb not to feel it.
p.s. go here, buy that, write review, repeat

Rakim or 2Pac. It really depends on what you define "best" as.

The best lyricist is can-i-bus, people have said that is albums are not all that, I would tend to agree, but I think the problem is his beats, the lyrical content is amazing but he is let down by bad beats, he needs to hook up with someone like prince pall or premier

I think there isn't one, everyones style is slightly different which determines what they should be judged on, since no one is the same style - unless you want hollywood generated artists - you can never find a good couple to compare.
