Pac isn't even the best rapper on your list. If your list were to be put in proper order, it would go:

1) Biggie
2) Em
3) Pac
4) Dre

Tupac = Hip Hop's Kurt Cobain.

There's a first for everything..

Not sure which part of my post you disagree with so I guess that's all I have to say.

yeah probably pac's placement after em is what i disagree with. at least the talent in pac was pretty consistent, and pac had a mission with his lyrics half the time...em, eh...everybody says fuck bush, i could do that. i think that pac is NOT overrated, as kurt cobaine. look at how many people WOULDN'T have made music without him. i definitely wouldn't compare the 2 on a level like that, pac was much more prolific in recordings, and he was far more aware of what was occurring without the depressed cloud kurt walked around with.

Eh I beg to differ.. Pac wasn't consistant with his talent.. he sorta started sucking later in his career due to his beef with the whole east coast.. Hit Em Up was just pathetic for a diss track. I stuff more from early in his career when he was making songs like Brendas Got a Baby, and even that wasn't really impressive from a lyrical point of view but at least it had a good message. I mean once he started lashing out at everyone and talking about how he was going to kill biggie and kill mobb deep and blah blah blah shit just became repetitive and annoying. And he IS overrated.. so very overrated by many fans who claim he was the greatest just because he got shot in his prime.

The comparison to Kurt Cobain is quite logical IMO. They are both worth more now than they were when they were alive, and both of their deaths sorta proved to their fans that not only do they talk the talk, they walk the walk. I think that's why people are so infactuated with these artists.. Kurt sang about killing himself and then he did it.. that just seems real to fans and they respect that. Tupac rapped about being a gangsta and he died like a gangsta.. shot by a crip's homeboys who he and his posse fucked up in a casino hallway. It's all about image.. on black and white, his lyrics don't compare to Eminem. He is a better performer than eminem, but not a better lyricist.

I've never heard a pac track that really astounded me lyrically. It's more his flow and his voice and the way that he raps that makes him good to listen to.. his actual lyrics are usually straight forward and simple. I've never heard anything from pac that compares with Bad Meets Evil or Stan.
