Perfecting my MP3 collection...
I have a fairly substantial MP3 collection of almost every genre. I'm an organizational freak and have everything in neat little folders like so:
N/NOFX/Punk in Drublic/Song title
(Letter/Band/Album/Song)
All album folders have a thumbnail pic of the album cover on it as well as the Band folder. And now I've begun to include word documents of all the lyrics in all the album folders.
Does anyone have any reccomendations of how else I can perfect my collection?
Before you ask, I currently have about 7000 mp3's.

I have a similar setup
Band/Album/Song
or
Band/Misc. Folder/Song if I dont have the whole album
I only categorize by album name if I have the entire album, otherwise I have a folder in the bands folder called "Misc. Songs"
I have a 20gig Car MP3 jukebox in one of my cars so that format makes it pretty easy to find shit while driving. All I do is plug the jukebox into its dockingbay and copy my MP3 folder right into the harddrive. Unfortunately I have more MP3's than I can hold on the 20gig jukebox now. Ill have to upgrade its harddrive.

I have it categorized by subgenre, and I personalized that to an extent. Example:
G:\000Electronic and Techno\St Germain\Album title (if applicable)\Filename (G is my MP3 partition)
My filename is typically Artist -Title, or Artist - Track Number - Title, but after that disaster I had with Itunes, which forced me to rename everything, I focus more on the ID3 information now and simply try to be consistent within a given folder. This works with my MP3 player as well.

I just drag and drop in iTunes, and it organizes all my folders and stuff for me. No sense in doing all the naming and organizing manually, especially with that many mp3s (I'm pushing 8000 right now)

I just use the winamp media library. I do have my mp3s organized after genres ( roughly ) though.
Genre\Artist - Album\Filename

I just put each of my files as Band - Song Title, nothing more than that, except for artists I have a lot of.
E.g. I have loads of Children of Bodom stuff so I have a separate folder for all their songs which are organised according to what album they're on.
