3) Yeah.
4) No way. Yeah the song is about his relationship, that's the only similarity. You have to look at songs for more than what they talk about. As an overall song, Kim and Puke are completely different. I could listen to Kim and then listen to Puke and feel like I just listened to two very different songs.

Yeah, they sound different, but he keeps talking about it on every album. we know he hates kim, we know he's tired of people talking shit about him. i think he needs to expand a little, that's all.

Well I guess I misunderstood what you meant by evolution. When I think of the word I think more in terms of moving onto something new and better, this just seems worse in a lot of aspects; it's not particularlly good rap and it's not very good pop either.

I understand what your saying about the putting out the album just to prove he can sell records cause that seems to be the case with him and anything he's connected with, mainly g-unit. But him and Dre are the only ones I respect there and I think Encore was just a huge disappointment and he's defintley capable of better, We all Die One Day is a great example of recent Eminem that is better.

To me he seems to be one of the only people in the rap game that has a chance of even saving it, but really is just sitting back and letting the money get to him.

Yeah, you're right evolving usually means changing for the better. But in my defense, I said "I think he's trying to evolve" not "he's evolving." Maybe he's trying but failing. But either way, I think there have been plenty of changes, whether they are good or bad.

He dresses up and do some crazy dance and tries to offend as many artists as he can (moby, michael jackson etc.....or maybe it's only those two....i dunno). The music is the also same and it's just starting to get boring. I'd say his last few singles is 98% pop and 2% hip hop.
Is it just me?

Opinions?

I didn't have time to read the entire thread, so forgive me if this has already been said, discussed, or mentioned.
But---You, as you said, don't listen to much rap/hip-hop. And I could be wrong, but it appears to be obvious you haven't heard his Cd's. All your talking about are Real Slim Shady and that other hit(name escapes me) that recently came out. That is just hype to get people pumped for an upcoming album.
Listen to his albums
Listen to his lyrics. Don't hear them, listen to them, theres a difference. And you will find a new appreciation for him. He's a lyrical genius. And when it comes to freestyles he's insane. The pop crap your referring too is a joke compared to what his albums really are.

Man, I dig previous Eminem albums as much as the next hip hop head, but a lyrical genius? Nah, he's not a lyrical genius. He's a very good rapper and he has some sick rhyme schemes and punchliness, but as far as concepts go he's not that great. He's had some genius songs sure, but none of his albums have been genius as far as I'm concerned. I guess it depends on what one would consider genius. For me, it isn't songs about raping fat bitches and taking shrooms.

Fyi- I love your signature dude, it's awesome

Anyway, once again....taking shrooms...he had one song about that! ONE! and he mentions in a few others as jokes, and the main song was also just a hilarious thing he did. I'm talking about his poetry, not his number one hits.
And his freestyles are insane....not just 8 mile...I mean his actual freestyles from back in the day, before Dre, before everything.

Thanks, it's a Woody Allan quote.

His freestyles are great I agree, overrated but great.

Those were just examples, I never said all his songs were about taking shrooms, but the majority of them are not "lyrical genius" material. He has a few song's I'll always consider great, and a couple albums I'll always consider classic, but I can't see him ever being considered a lyrical genius. If he made more songs like Stan or Rock Bottom and less songs like Just Don't Give a Fuck or Role Model I might change my mind. But with his material the majority of his songs are packed with good rhymes but have no real message in the song, and therefore cannot be lyrically genius. Great rapper but I wish he would put more meaning into his songs.

Eminem got old a couple of years ago. All his music videos are exactly the same. They're either
-Extremely unfunny with sad attempts at humour. They always include B list celebrities (Paris Hilton...) and him making fun of fat people, his mom, woman or his wife.
-Or extremely boring. The ones that portray him trying to be deep.
