in an interview he said he only includes for the most part artists (the ones he slanders in his songs) that said shit about him or publicly denounced him etc. basically, people who talked shit about him get included in the songs.

In my opinion eminem was always like this. I don't know what happened, but I think it has more to do with your personal taste then with eminems quality.....

sure, my taste in music has evolved since the time eminem got big, but i don't think thats the problem. he is just doing the same stuff over and over again. he was a fresh breeze a few years ago, now he is just old news.

Let me drop my 2 cents..

First of all.. eminem isn't a racist. He's around black people all the time, the guy who gave him his career is black. Let's be honest.. everyone has said something blatantely racist or wrong in their life, the only difference here is that Eminem got caught. He was young, he apologized, if what he's done since then counts for anything then it's safe to assume he isn't racist.

Next off.. he isn't gay to my knowledge. I can't say for sure he aint, but don't go on unfounded rumors to assume he's gay. I understand the irony if he was gay, and it would be pretty funny, but I tend to doubt it.

Now.. to answer the question addressed in the title of this thread. Yes Eminem is getting old, way too old to still be pulling this middle school bullshit. Everyone longs for the old Eminem, the guy who made SSLP and MMLP, you ever pay close attention to the content of those albums? He can't go back to that now, he's a grown ass man. His flow in the beginning was a rip off Masta Ace's flow. I thought he did a stupendous job at re-inventing his sound for the Eminem Show, which is one of the most underrated albums in recent years. The lyrics were nothing special but the delivery was fantastic.

Encore was a snooze-fest for me. It was just lame and mediocre as far as I could see. Just lose it is only the tip of the iceberg, then you got Mosh, the pathetic attempt to jump on the trendy "rock the vote" train. Then you have Toy Soldiers, which actually was a nice attempt to patch things up between him and 'zino, even though the actual song annoys me I appreciate the message. The rest of the songs were either corny or boring, save for a select few decent tracks.

Is he getting too old to be an emcee? I'd say he probably is, and he's making a smart choice to try to become a producer.. but the dude needs ALLLOOOOTTT of work in that field.

good reply viktor. kinda of topic, but you seem to know alot about eminem and his music, let me ask you - did he sample that chorus in 'like toy soldiers'? when the kids sing. i have the feeling i have heard it someplace else but this friend of mine says eminem came up with it.

Honestly I don't know.. people have asked that but I dunno. It's more than likely he sampled it if you ask me, but I can't give a definite answer. I've never heard that tune before, but it sounds like a sample. Most made-up beats are more electronic sounding, where samples usually involve singing and shit like that.
